The Cullman Times seeks an energetic newspaper professional, with a proven track record, to lead its audience and distribution team. This position will also oversee the operations of The News Courier in Athens and weekly newspapers in Gardendale and Pell City.
The Cullman Times is a six-day newspaper with a circulation of 4,650 daily and 5,200 on Sunday. The News Courier is a five-day newspaper with a circulation of 3,500 daily and 4,700 on Saturday. The newspapers publish weekly SMC products, various niche publications and websites.
The director manages all aspects of marketing and distribution, including home delivery, single-copy sales, digital subscriptions, niche products, and sales and retention.

Our director is an integral member of newspapersí senior leadership teams, with a voice in strategic initiatives.

Candidates must be results-oriented, possess a creative approach to audience development and have an unwavering commitment to customer service.

Candidates should have at least three years of audience development and sales experience, as well as an understanding of contractor relationships and mail distribution. Home to Arkansas Tech University and 40,000-acre Lake Dardanelle, The Courier in Russellville, AR. is seeking an experienced circulation manager. The Courier is a six-day-a-week (Tues.-Sun.) morning paper with a compliment of niche publications and a carrier delivered full market TMC.
The ideal candidate won't be afraid to roll up their sleeves as needed and should possess strong skills in distribution operations, marketing and customer service, with a focus on retaining and growing home delivery subscribers and increasing single copy sales.
Experience in managing a team of contracted carriers and the ability to use software including CirculationPro (or similar) and Excel spreadsheets is required. 3-5 years circulation experience is preferred.
